Council for Voluntary Service (Medway)
Advancing Medway Voluntary Action Councils for Voluntary Service (CVS) are local voluntary organisations set up and run by local groups to support, promote and develop local Voluntary Action. The first CVS was set up at the end of the last century to co-ordinate voluntary effort and promote new organisations to fill gaps in local services. In 1945 CVS linked up to form a national network. The national body, NACVS, now has a membership of over 280 local CVS throughout England. CVS (Medway) aspires to be the focal point for voluntary/community sector activity in Medway. It exists to provide its members and the wider voluntary sector with such services as may be required to enable them to thrive and be effective. Council for Voluntary Service
